Fire sprinkler system types

The right arrangement depends on the occupancy, fire hazard, water supply, building conditions and approved project requirements. We assess those details before recommending a system.

Wet pipe system

Water remains in the piping and discharges through a sprinkler when that sprinkler operates from heat. It is a common choice for buildings where the protected area is not exposed to freezing.

Preaction system

The piping is normally dry and a separate detection event admits water before discharge through an operated sprinkler. It adds control where unintended water release is a concern.

Additional release control Learn more about preaction systems

Deluge system

Open sprinklers or nozzles discharge together when the detection system opens the deluge valve. It is used for selected high-hazard or rapidly developing fire exposures.
