Fire detection and alarm system types

The right detection arrangement depends on the property, occupancy, hazard, ceiling conditions, airflow, alarm sequence, required interfaces and approved plans. We review those details before recommending a system.

Conventional FDAS

Initiating devices are grouped by zones, allowing the panel to show the affected area. A practical arrangement for selected smaller or straightforward properties.

Compatible devices and modules carry programmed addresses, allowing the panel to report more specific point, location and event information.

Aspirating smoke detection

A detector actively draws air through a sampling-pipe network. It can support early warning and selected difficult-access or critical applications.

Beam smoke detection

A projected beam monitors smoke obscuration across a large open area. It is considered where point-detector placement or access is difficult.
